Field Trip Photos!

So, we had a blast on the field trip today.  In the morning, we went swimming at the town pool, followed by lunch at Pizza Hut, then play at a park, and then ice cream at Connie's.  Here are a few pictures (there are more, but I don't have permission for all kids)...Enjoy!

Making Pies

On Thursday, 4B made apple pies.  Our purpose wasn't just to experience baking, but to give back to the people in the school who have got out of their way for our class.

We made individual apple pies, with each student being able to make one for themselves.  They did awesome!  We have some natural bakers out there, including Lukis and Jones!

Field Trip News

4P will be going on their field trip THIS FRIDAY!  Permission slips have already been handed out for parents and guardians to sign.  We will be heading to Russell where we will be swimming at the pool for a couple of hours.  Followed by that, we'll be having lunch at Pizza Hut.  We'll then walk to a playground where they'll have free play and then finish with a trip for ice cream.

Students will be leaving just before 9:30 on Friday morning and be back around 3 o'clock in the afternoon.  Students are asked to bring a towel, bathing suit, sunscreen, comb/brush, and a change of clothes.  Students are permitted to bring other items, but these are AT THEIR OWN RISK.

Update...

So unbelievably, things are already beginning to wind up as we finish the first week of June. Crazy huh?  Here's an update as to what's going on:

Spelling:  One more unit after this week and that is it.  There are a few students who owe multiple units...they know who they are, but I will be contacting families this week for any students who are behind.

L.A.:  ongoing grammar, reading groups, writing

Math:  Having finished shapes and division, we are wrapping up by doing review and problem solving.  Today, we learned how to play the game Yahtzee, which involves adding, multiplication, strategy, and problem solving.

Science:  We are still on the unit of rocks and minerals.

Social Studies:  We are finished our social studies for the year already.

Field trip news will be posted next week as plans changed slightly (we'll be heading to Russell now)...
